Botworld Adventures Strategy Guide: Sheller

Sheller from Botworld Odyssey

Sheller is an Epic rarity splasher-type bot whose design is reminiscent of the adorable little mollusks from Slugterra. It attacks using the launchers on its back that fire mines across the battlefield. The land mines trigger whenever an opposing bot stumbles across them, causing substantial damage.

It's a great bot to use in tandem with others for field control in Botworld Adventures, allowing for damage, stun, and disruption to the opposing team. If you're interested in adding him to your team, here are the best strategies, AI upgrade paths, and placements.

How to use Sheller in Botworld Adventures

Sheller has a wide attack range and high damage output, so getting him out early in the game to lay traps for opponents is ideal. The bots that will be harmed the most by this strategy are the fast, far-traveling bot types like Evaders and Chasers. Ram, Slicer, and especially Dune hate bumping into mines while they traverse the battlefield at high speeds. So, if you see any of these bots, it's lunchtime for Sheller.

  1. Ram
  2. Slicer
  3. Dune
  4. Phantom
  5. Drill
  6. Fork
  7. Froggy

Now that you know where to place my favorite mechanical snail, here is the ideal AI upgrade path that'll help you grind through the Solo League, Guild Battles, and Story Quests.

Best AI Upgrade Path for Sheller in Botworld Adventures

Sheller will play best when focusing on increasing its ability to lay mines fast, increase its range, longevity, and damage output. I've experimented with a few combinations, and this is the best path I landed on for my playstyle.

  1. Mine Cluster Preloader - Starts your Mine Cluster at 40%, so you can fire tons of mines quickly.
  2. Deadlier Mines - This increases the damage your mines output by a respectable 25%.
  3. Quick Launcher - With this upgrade, Sheller's Mine cooldown is reduced by 20%, allowing you to reload and blast the enemy again.
  4. Shell Shockwave - This upgrade is not optional, but as far as mandatory upgrades go, it isn't half bad. It buffs your Shell Shock ability by cutting the opponent's speed in half for 3 seconds.
  5. Heavy Slugs - The damage caused by Mine Cluster is boosted by 20%.

This upgrade path will make Sheller a nightmare on the battlefield. But one bot cannot win battles alone. This snail will need a team that complements its abilities and can capitalize on the mines it lays throughout the field. Here are Sheller's best teammates.

Best Teammates for Sheller in Botworld Adventures

  1. Bouncer - Its electromagnetism ability enables it to toss opposing bots across the field, potentially putting them into the path of a mine.
  2. Virus - Always a great pick; when hacked, opponents will turn on their team and possibly wander onto a mine.
  3. Ram - Ram has two abilities that displace opponents, Ram and Hornflick. The latter flings opponents far across the battlefield, while Ram causes large knockback.

If you're interested in seeing the AI path, team combos, and strategy in action, I've recorded a super fun battle I had using Sheller to destroy my opponent.
