Fox Pokemon have been part of the Pokemon roster ever since Generation 1. As such, they've racked up a healthy supply of representation over the years.
Ever since "Dexit" happened, it's become a little hard to make theme teams like foxes or monkies but places like Pokemon Showdown allow you to make any team you want a reality.
So for the love of foxes and all fox-like creatures, I've thrown together the ultimate all Fox Pokemon team, complete with held items, natures, and movesets.
Delphox is the final evolution of the fire Kalos starter and a decent special attacker with high speed. It's physical defense is lacking a bit so don't expect it to tank a ton of hits.
Do some damage in favorable matchups and only switch in when you predict a resisted move like a Psychic or Fire attack.
Nature: Modest (+ Special Attack / - Attack) EV Spread: 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Defense
Held Item: Choice Specs
Undead versions of popular Pokemon are always a great design choice. Hisuian Zoroark is the Ghost and Normal version of the shadow fox Pokemon from Unova.
It's just as frail as its Unovan counterpart but has superior typing. It no longer has to fear Fighting or Fairy types but did lose immunity to Psychic moves.
It's certainly a fair trade-off as this fox now only has a single weakness (Dark, ironically) and two immunities (Ghost and Fighting).
Nature: Timid (+ Speed / - Attack) EV Spread: 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Defense
Held Item: Life Orb
Alolan Ninetiles is probably a better choice in some teams but this fox team will have more Pokemon that benefit from Sun than Hail. As such, it's important that this fox has access to its hidden ability: Drought.
This monster will be yet another Special Attacker, which it appears most fox Pokemon are. In any event, Ninetails has solid support moves and decent enough special attack to fend off weaker opponents.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed / - Attack) EV Spread: 252 HP / 252 Speed / 4 Special Attack
Held Item: Leftovers
Espeon is the first Eevee evolution on the list and serves as the team's cleric. Its main role will be keep the team healthy with Wish support and protected with dual screens.
It also has the coolest shiny variant in the game in my opinion.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed / - Attack) EV Spread: 252 HP / 252 Speed / 4 Special Attack
Held Item: Light Clay
Yes, I realize there is another fire type on the team but there aren' only a few fox Pokemon for us to work with. Flareon is provides a much-needed physical presence to the team.
Of the Eevee squad, it's the best choice for a physical attacker. Give the ability Guts to use status ailments to your advantage.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack / - Special Attack) EV Spread: 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Speed
Held Item: Choice Band
Rounding out the fox team, we have Swiper himself. This thieving fox is a pure Dark-type with subpar stats.
This is probably why it resorts to stealing and trickery most of the time. It really isn't a great Pokemon overall. But I felt like including another Eevee would make it less of a Fox team and more of an Eeveelution squad.
Nature: Modest (+ Special Attack / - Attack) EV Spread: 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed / 4 HP
Held Item: Wise Glasses
These fox 'mons are the best the Pokemon world has to offer in terms of competitive viability. But, if you want to give yourself a challenge, here is a list of all fox Pokemon you can use to build your own forest fox squad.
